We use your location to calculate which sky events are visible from your position, including rise/set times, altitude, and visibility scores. Your location is stored on your device and in your account profile if you create one.
If you create an account, we store your email address for authentication and account recovery.
We store your notification settings (lead time, minimum score, enabled event types) to deliver timely sky event alerts.
We collect anonymous usage data such as which features you use and how you interact with the app. This helps us improve NightCast for everyone.

Account data is kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data will be removed from our servers. Anonymous users' data is stored on-device only and is never uploaded to our servers.
